This probably won’t go over too well in Cleveland.

According to Chris Assenheimer of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram, Indians closer Chris Perez went on a bit of a rant after Saturday’s 2-0 victory against the Mariners about the lack of support this year at Progressive Field. And the fact that he’s been booed at home during some of his rougher outings.

The Indians have a four-game lead over the Tigers in the American League Central standings but attracted only 29,799 fans on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon and rank dead last in the American League this year in attendance.

Perez says one of the reasons free agents don’t want to sign with Cleveland is because of lack of fan support.

Perez cited Beltran choosing to sign with Cards as an example of players not wanting to come to Cleveland. Said it definitely is a factor

Perez is 13-for-13 in save opportunities since imploding on Opening Day. He has a 3.31 ERA on the year.
